Leadership Skills

• I have a great ability to see talent in individuals on my team, and figure out how to help them develop them, then capitalize on those skills for the better of the team.

• I believe in utilizing the team from idea inception through to launch of a project.  This leads to greater participation and a sense of ownership by individuals on the team vs. telling them to simply implement my strategy.  They learn more from this as well.

• My team is comfortable being frank and honest, speaking what's on their mind while I am present.  Trust goes both ways on my team.

Volleyball Skills

 

• In my glory days after college, I was blessed with the opportunity to play 1 season of professional volleyball in the NVA, for the Iowa Blizzard.  This allowed me to play against many former All-Americans and an Olympian. (The Olympian was better than me.  But I held my own with the others.)

• I spent several years coaching 9-12 year olds in the art of playing volleyball and believing in themselves.

Life Skills

 

• I once packed everything I needed to backpack through France & Italy for 12 days into a single backpack.  I am particularly proud of this accomplishment because I am a notorious over-packer of shoes. 

• My husband & I ride RAGBRAI every year with 20,000 of our closest friends.  You can learn a lot about life while riding your bike across Iowa.

Nunchuck Skills

 

• To be completely up front, if your company requires this ability, it's one skill where I need a little work.  However, I'm a quick study and I make up a lot of ground in determination & heart.  (But the Marketing thing, I've got that covered.)
